ABOUT ACADEMY TRAVELS

Founded in 2010, Academy Travel Services Inc. (aka Academy Travels or ATS for short) is a Toronto-based, TICO (Travel Industry Council Of Ontario) registered and IATA certified travel agency. ATS is a company founded and owned by Canadians of Turkish origin.

Our mission

We sell airline tickets and travel packages, and host business and leisure groups visiting Canada and provide all ground services.

As a trusted travel agency by the Seneca College, since 2013 we provided outbound trips to Turkey, Greece, USA, Germany and the The Czech Republic for international students of Seneca and as part of the College’s MILE (Mobile Intensive Learning Experience) programme. In 2018, we organized a Labour Day Trip to Cuba. This was a customized itinerary for the Canadian-Turkish community and for people who wanted to have a vacation in Cuba while enjoying a socialist style May 1st Labour Day celebration.

As a boutique-style travel agency, we are capable to organize customized trips for small and large groups in Canada, the USA, Europe and the Middle East.

We work hard to understand the “new way of travel” in the post-COVID-19 era.

Şehnaz Agduk, Director

Şehnaz is the Director and the founding partner of Academy Travels.

She started her own company in 2010 in Canada. She has 20 years of managerial and field experience in European, Eastern Mediterranean and North American tour operations. She possesses strong product and industry knowledge with extensive experience in designing, planning, selling, and operating various tours including Holy Land trips, trekking, mountaineering, mountain biking, motion picture and documentary film productions, charter and hotel-based sightseeing trips for Canada, Turkey, Greece, Egypt, Israel, Jordan, Syria, USA as well as other countries in Europe.

Varol Karslioglu, Marketing Director

Varol’s professional background is in Accounting, Finance and Auditing. After emigrating to Canada in 2005, he chose to pursue a career in the hospitality and tourism industry. He has been working at Academy Travels in different

roles since 2011. He has Ontario- designated CTM (Certified Travel Manager) license and is also an experienced tour guide holding NPC (Niagara Parks Commission) and TGAT (Tour Guides’ Association of Toronto) tour-guide licences.

Seyran Savas Yilmaz, Accountant

Seyran graduated from Akdeniz University in Antalya, Turkey. She worked as a banker, insurer, and insurance manager and has extensive experience in the financial sector.

She is a passionate photographer and loves to cook.

In Canada since April 2022, she also studies international management a Lambton College of Toronto. She loves to be in this industry.

Alkim Cicek, Travel Consultant

Alkim graduated from Bahçeşehir College School in Istanbul, Turkey and continued his education at Seneca College, Department of International Business in Toronto.

He used to play futsal (indoor soccer) at a competitive level. He speaks Turkish as his native language in addition to his fluency in English. He has been living in Toronto for three years and currently working at Academy Travels as a ticketing agent. He has worked as a marketing director in Turkey for three years before coming to Canada
